What counts as Written Materials?
In Art and Design it is important to appreciate the relationship between visual and written language. Written material can inform visual images and objects but it serves little purpose when it simply becomes a laborious labelling exercise.

- annotated drawings
- commentaries on the work of others
- critical accounts of particular work, or exhibitions
- insights into sources and the development of ideas
- evaluations of completed work
- reflections on candidates’ work and the work of others
- insights into candidates’ intentions
- reflections on moral, social, ethical, social and environmental aspects of the work
