The Perimeter is a photography project by Quintin Lake based on walking 10,000km around the coast of Britain in sections. The journey started on 17th April 2015 at St Paul's cathedral and I'm following the coast clockwise. I expect the journey will take around 5 years.

Spearheaded by The Duchess of Cambridge, Patron of the National Portrait Gallery, Hold Still is an ambitious community project which was launched in May 2020 to create a unique collective portrait of the UK during lockdown. We invited people of all ages to submit a photographic portrait, taken in a six-week period during May and June, focussed on three core themes – Helpers and Heroes, Your New Normal and Acts of Kindness. Over 31,000 submissions were received from across the country, with entrants ranging from 4 to 75 years-old. From these, a panel of judges selected 100 portraits, assessing the images on the emotions and experiences they conveyed.
Featured here in this special digital exhibition, the final 100 present a unique and highly personal record of this extraordinary period in our history. From virtual birthday parties, handmade rainbows and community clapping to brave NHS staff, resilient keyworkers and people dealing with illness, isolation and loss. The images convey humour and grief, creativity and kindness, tragedy and hope – expressing and exploring both our shared and individual experiences. View the gallery The graphic above describes how you should layout This section is where you are presenting your response to the project title. This should be your best work, presented in a way which makes it stand out from the rest of your work.
The image above is a guide to how you should set out your work. AO2 refers to Experimentation while AO3 refers to ideas and observations. It makes sense to group these together. Please make sure you use titles for each step of the process. This will make it easier for the moderator understand your process.
A Level photography is broken in 2. Coursework & Exam. Coursework is worth 60% of your marks. The coursework is broken down into 4 sections, AO1 Research, AO2 Experimentation, AO3 - Photographs & AO4 - Final Outcome.
AO1 is where you evidence research and develop ideas. Students seem to think that a gallery and a mind map is all you need. The reality is that this will get you a few marks at best. AO1 requires as much effort as you would put into your photography. Follow the chart above as a guide. Make sure you write about the photographs that you research using key terms. Please remember that to get a top grade that there must be a link between your research and your final outcome in AO4. Some interesting tips here from a range of food photographers.
