Came across this food photography blog by Michael Michaels. Some good examples of different types of food photography and a really interesting post on the portrait photographer David Bailey.

Have a look at this portfolio of photographs from the Danish photographer, Lasse Hoile. He is best known for his work in designing album covers for the Death Metal Genre but as you will see from his portfolio he touches on all kinds of photography. He seems to have a special knack for making simple photographs look interesting.
In terms of class projects there is a huge amount of inspiration here. His surreal photos are superb and look out for his cross processing images, a project we will be looking at after half term. Lasse Hoile Portfolio If you find yourself in need of another photo project or maybe you just want to do something different then check out these fun photo projects. I especially like Young Me/Now Me, Back to the Future, and more. Click here for the link.
Have a look at this article on portrait photographers. Have a look through each of their portfolios. Look out for their differing approaches, different styles and they way in which their photography exudes mood and emotion. Hopefully some inspiration for you all.
Link If you need some inspiration for your food photography project then look no further than these fantastic photographs taken by Sasha Ray. They were of particular interest to me as they were taken in the kitchen of the Punch Bowl, a fantastic countryside pub we have stayed in on several occasions. These photographs focus on the chef's hard at work and the fantastic food they are creating. There is a combination of black &white for the chef's and colour for the food. I am particularly drawn to the black and white shots which give a real insight into the working environment of a restaurants kitchen. The Punch Bowl: Head Chef Scott Fairweather |
